It's been a little over half a year since the last MEGABREAD update, and I swear there's really not a great reason for that. I started working on this update shortly after completion of Metal & Magic, and it's now been many months since. It's really inexcusable for me to not finish during that time, and I'm not sorry at all LMAO. I'm not getting paid for this who cares
Before we begin...
I'd like to share with you a little bit of additional information that I couldn't really convey in-game yet (unless I just wanted to put it in a book or something).
This update really introduces the main proponent of the story that's to soon be told through future MEGABREAD versions, MegaGreg's Baking Co. You may be thinking, "surely that's a joke, right? MegaGreg? That sounds like an April Fool's joke!" Joke's on you idiot, that's the point
I don't mean to give away the whole story now, because that would ruin it, but basically MegaGreg's is the company that produced the MEGABREAD and many other baked goods of your childhood, and long ago they had stores set up around the world. Business was booming, but suddenly the owners got in trouble and everything just started to... fall apart. The bakeries and restaurants lost business, but the shareholders never really let them shut down. For whatever reason, all these years later, they still have hope that whoever the owner was will one day return.
Final Thoughts, For Now
That being said, thanks as always for sticking around. To me, it's felt like my own audience has drooped slightly since last time, but I've been really busy with real life stuff for a while, so that's understandable. I recently started a creative partnership with Amoaxi, a Youtuber and streamer who's been friends with my friend for a while and, as I discovered, also enjoys creating datapacks and stuff in Minecraft, so it was just a really neat coincidence that I found her. I've already made one video with her, and we hope to get at least one more, her most ambitious video yet, out by the end of the year (hopefully), with many more to come after. She's helping with MEGABREAD and some of my other projects as well, along with the Boogieboyes, so I'm not doing this all alone. Ok it's patch notes time now
Fixes & Changes
Added Boiaaangisms MP3 Player from the first MEGABREAD Feature Test. Currently only available via commands, but will later be fully available in Survival mode.
Added three new structures:
Bakery: A small MegaGreg's bakery, consisting of a dining room and kitchen.
Restaurant: A larger MegaGreg's Family Restaurant, with a waiting room, main dining room, two VIP party rooms, a kitchen (and a freezer within), and a manager's office. A door in the manager's office leads to the roof. There is a second version of this structure with a few additional features and a hidden access point to more rooms...
Graveyard: a small, private final resting place. If you dare rob graves with a certain type of flower, there is some loot to be found inside. There is a tomb at the back with some slightly more evil loot that generates the new Weeper mob.
Added Banana Cookie Pies, an uncraftable food source that yeilds a lot of saturation and hunger points. Occasionally spawns in Bakery and Restaurant loot tables.
Updated the give_all function to include Red Arrows and the Giant Spawn Egg
Added Rubies, which drop from the Ruby Ore that now occupies space in the world previously held by Stone Diamond Ore.
Added new Weeper mob, which spawns from Monster Spawners in Graveyards. Weepers do not attack or take any damage, but will still pursue players, Villagers, and Iron Golems.
Slightly retextured the Corn Cube to be marginally more pleasing on the eyes.
Added Earrings that give special effects depending on the particular gem used when worn. Diamond Earrings add 3% speed, Emerald Earrings add one attack damage to your existing attack power, Ruby Earrings grant one additional heart (2 HP), Amethyst Earrings add one point of knockback resistance, and Nether Star Earrings add all of these effects, plus an extra half heart, .5 knockback resistance points, .5 attack damage (quarter heart) per hit, and 1 luck point. All earrings can be obtained from chests in the Graveyard.
Added a new /trigger equip command, which can be used in any gamemode. This sets any item held in your offhand to your helmet slot. Be careful, however: any item in your helmet slot will be deleted if you run this command before removing it from there. This is the only way you can apply the new Earrings, but also allows you to wear any item on your head, essentially granting you a new (albeit hard-to-access) inventory slot if you're willing to not wear a helmet.
Added the Big Block, another item exclusive to commands for the time being, as they require further testing before deserving full Survival use.
Added cosmetic Skeleton, Computer, Monitor, Keyboard, and CCTV Camera items, as well as the sign items for the Bakery and Restaurant. With the exception of the Bakery Sign, all of these items can be found in the secret expanded Restaurant.
Shulker Bullets now only get launched through the Use Item button, and will not be launched by dropping them.
Gigabread structures will now generate about twice as frequently as before.
Added a Magic Chest hidden somewhere in the secret Restaurant variant. This item? mob? block? will allow you to obtain a variety of items in the future, but for now you can use it to obtain more Magic Chests and the currently purely decorative Crystal Ball item. All Magic Chests trades are currently performed with Rubies and another item related to the one being purchased.
Changed the resource and data packs' pack.png. I meant to do this for 2.3 but forgot.
