I'm now releasing the first alpha version of MEGABREAD: Act 3, MB3-Alpha I. The naming scheme for these will be pretty simple: the next one will be MB3-Alpha II, then MB3-Alpha III, IV, and so in roman numerals to distinguish from the latin 3. (: In the future, I will probably be releasing these on Mondays instead, since that will allow for the fastest turnaround time. I've basically just been sitting on these, minus a few last-minute changes, all week, waiting for the moment that I was finally free to release it. As this is an alpha version, there are a number of bugs, missing features, etc. for you to discover. But I wanted to get the first little peek out ASAP, so pardon our dust. You may notice, also, that I'm announcing this through the News section of Boiaaang's Depths rather than making it its own page. That's because there's probably going to be a lot of these alpha versions, and Weebly Free isn't exactly the most versatile or user-friendly format. Instead, the patch notes for these alpha versions will be on the Boogieboyes Wiki, where I can have hyperlinks to pages for individual features and such that don't really make sense to have on this website. That's all I have to say. Have fun trudging through bugs and incomplete features!!!! Downloads

In November of last year, I announced that I would be creating one final version of my Minecraft datapack, MEGABREAD. It was intended to be a "Holiday Special" of sorts for the pack, as I considered the previous release, version 2.5, to be the final "true" version of the pack. The Holiday Special was only going to include a few winter/Christmas-themed features, along with some additional supplemental material for existing systems, such as a more fluid method of obtaining items such as the Buster Sword, and release some time during December. Well, in case it wasn't obvious, it is now March, and the MEGABREAD Holiday Special has not been released. I believe I've addressed this on my Discord server, making it clear the scope had expanded pretty drastically, and I've started referring to it as "MEGABREAD: Act 3" starting on February 28th of this year. That day is very important to this post for one simple reason: it was the day that Mojang released Snapshot 23w09a, which completely overhauled the way NBT works for Minecraft datapacks. This upset me greatly, because it meant that if I wanted to release MEGABREAD for Minecraft: Java Edition 1.20.5 or later, it would, in short, mean I had to essentially re-write the code for every item in the datapack, which at this moment is somewhere in the range of 90 to 110 items. I'm not here to brood about the state of Minecraft datapacks in a post-23w09a world. In fact, I've sort of made peace with these changes in the weeks since the change occurred, as the new Item Stack Component (ISC) format has seemingly opened the door for a lot of cool new item behaviors that NBT could not perform. In the days after the announcement of ISC, I decided that I would simply continue developing MEGABREAD: Act 3 for Java Edition 1.20.4, the final non-snapshot patch of the game that did not make the change to ISC. However, I was not entirely satisfied with this conclusion. Maybe it's a more personal problem, but I have always thought it was strange when someone would choose to exclusively release their Minecraft mod, server, etc. for an earlier version of the game; it seems counter-productive to me, in a way. I suppose now that a drastic change has occurred in a field I'm more intimate with, I understand the logic behind it, though. It really hurt knowing that all of my work had seemingly been swept away in the winds of change... despite this, in my mind, I am beginning to flirt with the idea that it would be more ideal to take the leap and remake all the features for Minecraft 1.21, rather than remaining on an outdated version. It kind of sucks realizing this, too! I had this whole grandiose scheme in my head of trying to implement all the post-23w09a features and changes within the constraints of 1.20.4, or at least develop suitable alternatives... But in subsequent snapshots, and especially today's, where it became possible to more easily control the behavior of food items, I see that it may be more easy to create it for 1.21. This will mean that it will probably still be a few more months until the release of MEGABREAD: Act 3. It was actually almost done on 1.20.4... I only had a few more changes to make before I would have considered it "complete," but now I'll probably have to basically start over... ;-; This strain would probably be reduced by having more people familiar with Minecraft datapack development, or at least general Minecraft content development... if you're reading this and are interested in helping me out in this, I'd always appreciate it, but I still don't feel comfortable outright asking for help when I do not have the funds to really pay anyone for the help. I do this out of my own passion for the craft (and the 'Craft), and since Mojang does not authorize the sale of datapacks or mods (outside of the Bedrock Marketplace...), there's not a whole lot of "residuals" I'd be able to pay you in, either. That only leaves us with one other topic of MEGABREAD discussion, that being the highly secretive and elusive MEGABREAD: Extra Large. I'm not sure how much I've talked about this publicly, but MEGABREAD: Extra Large (MBX) is intended to be the culmination of the little plot details I've inserted into the MEGABREAD datapack over these past few years, forming a full-fledged, entire game within Minecraft with the use of mods, datapacks, and a custom pre-generated world. If that sounds ambitious, it definitely is... For some reason, I had envisioned that I would somehow release it in 2024, but I realized recently that I'm probably not even in the right place to start developing it this year. Indeed, I've probably bit off a lot more than I can even fit in my mouth with MEGABREAD: Extra Large. It would take at least the amount of work and time required to complete this idea within Minecraft as it would to create an entire new game from scratch. Actually, I've determined that it will probably be less work to make it as its own unique game from Minecraft, so going forward that's probably what it will end up being (also, I'd be able to sell it if it was an original game). The only problem is, I can only possibly imagine anything MEGABREAD-related as a 3D game, and lately I've been dedicating my game development powers towards learning GameMaker, an exclusively 2D engine, in the pursuit of my real gamedev goal, my RPG Forgotten Legends. Right now, my plan is to make and release some smaller games using GameMaker throughout 2024, and potentially start making actual progress on FL either late this year or early next year, to make it as good as I possibly can. That kind of leaves MBX in an awkward place, where all of my efforts are going towards working in a 2D engine with no real opportunity to work in a 3D one. That, combined with the fact my only real machine I can create things with is a little laptop that can barely run Minecraft, has led me to the decision that I will have to postpone the development of MEGABREAD: Extra Large, basically indefinitely. Maybe to some of you this will be upsetting, but more than likely you won't even be reading these words until you see them... sigh... in a Youtube documentary covering my impressive library of over 500 best-selling games, and unequaled legacy as an indie game developer, and lasting beauty even in the distant, futuristic year of 2025 Anyway, I'll get back to work. In case you haven't seen it, I recently released my "first game" using GameMaker, Aliens & Asteroids, a clone of Atari's old vector-graphic Asteroids arcade game. Most of the framework, really, came from GameMaker's most basic full-game tutorial, and I've just added some new mechanics and stuff to it, including dynamic difficulty and, well, aliens. I'll be updating it sporadically over the near future, along with at least one other small GameMaker game this year, before I start actual work on Forgotten Legends (name not final). I'm looking to now release MEGABREAD: Act 3 in early summer or so of this year, maybe sooner depending on how productive I am in that time. My productivity tends to fluctuate pretty rapidly... hopefully, though, there won't be any more major delays. That's all for now. In case you weren't aware, there has been a Boogieboyes Discord server where you can get constant, incessant updates on any time I do anything, or when Adult Swim is airing the 1993 live-action Super Mario Bros. movie. And also don't forget about the Boogieboyes Wiki, I have not given up on it yet...
Welcome back to another glorious My Dad's Birthday, a.k.a. Boiaaang Day, now rebranded to Boiaaang Expo so it doesn't sound like it's my birthday when I tell people about it. There are a couple of things I'm really excited to announce today because I think they're really cool even if nobody else really cares or is even reading this right now mario First of all, Book of Wario is finally hopefully getting released soon. I've had problems in the past with paypal and stuff, but I think now everything is working correctly? Soon you'll be able to buy packs of Book of Wario on some online shop, but I'm not 100% sure which one yet. One pack will set you back around $5 to $10 and probably contain nine Fighter cards, an Effect card, an Item card, and a Badge card. Again, that's all subject to change, but I think that's a fair price all things considered (I am cutting and printing them out by hand). bread There's a new version of MEGABREAD coming!!! I know I said I'm pivoting over to MEGABREAD: Extra Large, but there were a couple of loose ends to tie up left over in the original MEGABREAD datapack. The MEGABREAD Holiday Special: A Very MEGA BREADmas releases later this year, sometime around mid-December hopefully. I don't usually do this, but in order to make this seem like a worthwhile thing I'm actually ready to share some images with new features and stuff... Here's some of the big crazy wacky things coming to The MEGABREAD Holiday Special, including the new Frost Token, which can be used in trading with the new Gingerbread Golem mob, whom I will not be showing today. Frost Tokens are obtained from the Gingerbread Golem via trading, costing both Rubies and Ice for it to create the Frost Tokens. Frost Tokens can then be traded back to the Golem for things such as gingerbread cookies and the new Presents, which I'll get back to in a moment. There's also the Magic Limes, which will increase your XP level by 1 when eaten. This isn't just for enchanting, though; The MEGABREAD Holiday Special is introducing new uses for XP that will be more relevant in MEGABREAD: Extra Large. In the middle of this image are four new sword weapons. These are uncraftable, but can be found in existing loot tables. For example, the top-left, purple one can be found in Nether Fortress chests. I'll leave it up to you to guess what they all do, where they're found, and what they're named for now. I can tell you, however, that they each generally last a lot longer than vanilla, and are quite a bit more powerful, owing to their rarity. Here's some of the Presents I mentioned earlier. You can get these from trading with the Gingerbread Golem. Breaking them will give you all kinds of cool stuff, like gingerbread cookies, action* figures based on mobs, and socks. *Most figures do not actually move. reading If you've made it this far, it means you must be able to read. In fact, it probably means you like to read. It might even mean that you like to read about things I do. If this sounds like you, I have something for you: the official Boogieboyes Wiki. You heard that right, now you can read about things I do all the time, always, because I'm constantly going to be adding stuff to this "web site," including but not limited to:
*You will not learn anything from this page. The Boogieboyes Wiki is hosted on a MediaWiki through Miraheze, which means you won't see nearly as many ads as you would on Wikia/Fandom, though Miraheze is upheld by a pretty small team as far as I know, so when problems come up it may take a little while for them to be resolved. I don't have the money to pay for a server myself, but Miraheze hosts several servers I use occasionally and it's not a problem 99% of the time. For now, I'd prefer it if nobody edits the wiki but me... At some point I'll hopefully be busy enough for it to be warranted, but as I know a lot more about this stuff than anyone else probably ever will, it doesn't really make a lot of sense for anyone else to take it upon themselves to edit it unless I've made some serious, stupid mistake. That being said, I am trying to get Rads to add his stuff to the wiki, but I think he thinks it's totally lame or something... end You can send me money on ko-fi now if you want! Money helps me survive in this bitch of a world called Time and lets me keep making new things for 24 hours a day every day because I like doing it a lot. but I do need money to do that and now you can directly send that very things to me whenever you want. please
ok bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 OPPA QUANTUM STYLE - SIC SEMPER BOIAAANUS - BOIAAANG WAS HERE It's been a while, huh? Here's what you may have missed: What I've been up to...
So, what's next? Besides uploading the rest of my "discography" to Bandcamp, there are a couple projects I'm thinking about working on. First of all, I'm thinking about creating some videos on Youtube for the sake of creating videos, rather than just to document MEGABREAD ideas and such. I'm thinking about having them be me talking about some older ideas and games I created when I was a kid, and whatever else I feel like talking about. Now, if only I had a microphone and camera that weren't terrible... I'm also in the very early planning stages for a second album, preemptively titled "More Boiaaangisms." That probably won't be the final title, and doesn't necessarily reflect the theme of the album, but that's the best thing I've come up with so far. It's going to be a bit more complicated than Boiaaangisms to create, so it will take longer than a week or so to create like the first one. I have at least one song planned that uses Morshu like a Vocaloid... we'll see where that goes. And, to address the elephant in the room: yes, there will be more MEGABREAD in the future. If everything goes to plan, it will probably be the largest project I've ever undertaken. I don't want to spoil everything I've come up with so far, but it will be a much more linear experience than the original MEGABREAD, which was more of an expansion to vanilla Minecraft than its own thing. MEGABREAD: Extra Large (working title) will sort of be a complete new story and game with Minecraft as an engine, rather than an expansion of sorts. I know there have been 100 zillion survival maps (I wasn't born yesterday), many of which with tons of datapack and command magic that creates a complete story, but what I'm going for is probably a lot more complicated than those (not to discredit those incredibly talented creators; I'm probably overestimating my own abilities and scope a lot). I'm planning bosses, dimensions, new mechanics and systems, a story with complex characters and lore... I hope you'll all be patient and join me as my delusions of grandeur become more realistic. Closing Thoughts That's pretty much all I've got for you right now. I've got a lot of work to do...
But before you go, there's one thing I'd like to ask you: do you want to help me out? A lot of my projects are pretty specific, so I don't doubt that a lot of you who clicked on this on a whim aren't particularly interested in Minecraft datapacks and such, but if there is something that, say, you'd like to be a part of, I'd always really appreciate the help! Mostly, I'm going to need help with the music for MEGABREAD: Extra Large, but that phase of production is potentially over a year away. I'd also appreciate some help promoting the thing when it comes time to do that, and help with 3D modelling and animation in the confusing environment that is Minecraft's model system is a little more of a pressing topic. A couple more people helping design dungeons and monsters and such wouldn't hurt, either. If you'd like to help me out, just message me on Discord at Boiaaang#3796 (if by the time you're reading this, the Discord # Discriminator Ninjas have finally caught up to me and made me change my username, I'll be @boiaaang). I've got a couple other people helping me out already, so if only one person applies, it won't just be you and me alone. (: ...I guess you could maybe also comment on this blog post? I don't actually know how it works. Anyway, thanks for reading my ramblings, and in case I don't make any other big announcements for a while, Happy Halloween, winter holidays, New Year's, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, 4th of July, and Halloween again...
- fixed typos on the home screen that have apparently been there for like, a year
- did not at all change this page nope - reduced site scores of all users by 2.3% (if you're not a developer, you don't need to worry about this) - added a page for The Game Where Aliens Attack and Kill YOU and It's Super Scary and Gross to the "Games I Making" category

ABOUT THE AUTHORB. Grottington Oiaaang was one of the most celebrated poets and authors of the 12nd century, renowned for its use of semicolons in the right places and borderline egregiously perfect spelling. Its favorite flavor of stew was "round" and preferred cut of beef "the softte Part of the Bull's Gums, cooked at 11 Degrees until Medium Raw." Archives
