Book of Wario Prologue
Many years ago, in the long-forgotten and ancient year of 1989, a HERO set out to save a princess from the clutches of an alien.
The HERO was victorious in his quest, but upon returning home he found his castle had been taken over by an EVIL and DASTARDLY, yet SIMULTANEOUSLY very ATTRACTIVE and STRONG, foe...
The hero's lifelong RIVAL.
The RIVAL, after many long and grueling years of attempts to best the man who had wronged him as a child, over and over and over again.
He scattered the six keys to the hero's castle throughout the land.
However, unfortunately for the RIVAL...
The hero found these keys. He returned them to the castle. And he kicked the RIVAL out of it.
Several years later, the hero and his rival once again found themselves in a race. A statue had been stolen, and a high bounty was placed upon it.
The rival set out on his quest to find the statue before the hero... but it was too late.
In his quest, the rival got in a battle with a band of pirates. This gave the hero enough time to find the statue and return it to its owner, and once again his rival was left emptyhanded.
However, this is where the paths begin to branch.
In your universe, the rival-- no, let us call him by his name.
In your universe, WARIO, rival of the hero, was given a wish by the pirate captain's genie for freeing him.
The genie gave him the castle of Wario's dreams.
But in this universe, the genie was not so thankful. Here, the captain was kind to the genie, and in defeating her the genie was enraged and sent Wario to a distant land.
Wario was furious. Not only did he fail to catch the statue before his rival, but now he had no chance of ever getting home.
So, Wario sought to find his way back. Wario wanted to return home and beat up the genie and his rival.
Soon, he lucked out. He was approached by a Man who offered Wario infinite power.
Wario, being the vengeful man he was, eagerly agreed to the Man's offer.
The Man gave Wario power beyond his's comprehension, and Wario returned home.
There, he confronted the genie. Wario, with all his strength, charged an attack.
But Wario deeply underestimated his own powers.
Wario trapped the souls of every being in the universe inside of little cards.
Wario had won... but at what cost?
Now, where do you fit into this story?
It's truly a wonder that by some means you have managed to be the first of these cards to become sentient. Or perhaps it was intentional...?
Regardless, your task is to allow all the other beings in the universe to think for themselves as well once more.
It may seem barbaric, but if you force a card to fall in battle it seems you will manage to knock them out of their possessed trance.
Any cards you defeat will be eligible for you to use in combat against other cards. You have as many Level Points to your disposal in a battle as the cards you have chosen to fight against. That being said, if you would like access to an Assist, Item, or Badge card, you must pair it with a fightable card that can carry it.
Achieve anything you need to defeat stronger cards, and ultimately Wario himself. But beware; he's not going down without a fight.
Wario's battle will not be like many others; the file below contains the script required to fight him properly.
Good luck, hero. You might need it!
